Conferência: The Performance of Medieval Monophony (12th-16th centuries)

Este encontro interdisciplinar visa colocar a monodia no centro de uma discussão que reúne musicólogos, liturgistas, historiadores, historiadores de arte e especialistas em literatura. Ao longo de períodos da Idade Média, e escrita musical, as representações visuais e os relatos escritos de cantores aumentaram continuamente. Em particular, o fim da Idade Média proporcionou uma grande variedade de textos relativos a “boas práticas” e a formas corretas de canto, coincidindo com a introdução dos novos media e com o aumento da circulação de textos e imagens impressas.

Esta conferência focar-se-á mais propriamente em descrições e/ou representações técnicas, pedagógicas, poéticas e literárias da prática e performance da canção para uma só voz.  A maioria das contribuições será publicada no volume 7 da Textus & Musica.
