So-called neuroreductionist approaches to mental health (e.g., RDoC initiative) define mental disorders as brain disorders. By contrast, drawing from a 4E Cognition framework, recent approaches have emphasized in varying degrees the situated, embodied and enactive features of psychopathological conditions. The talk reviews and classifies the main current 4E approaches to mental health, outlining their core commitments and implications.
