Madalena Meyer Resende

Madalena Meyer Resende is Associate Professor at the FCSH – NOVA University of Lisbon and senior researcher at IPRI-NOVA. She held visiting fellowships at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at the Centre for European Policy Studies in Brussels. She received her PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics in 2005.
Her research specialises in nationalism, Catholicism and constitutionalism, with a particular focus on Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. She is a member of the board of the Wilfried Martens Centre in Brussels and has held leadership positions in national and international associations, including President of the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP) and  Vice-President of the International Political Science Association (IPSA). She is currently Sub Dean for Internationalization at NOVA FCSH.
In addition to her academic work, Madalena writes regularly for the press.
