How does it work?

Turnitin is  a software that aims to verify the originality of a document, allowing teachers to detect possible situations of academic fraud.

By comparing the submitted document to a vast database composed of student works, websites and scientific publications, Turnitin presents a report where it is possible to identify all text similarities, as well as the original sources where they occur.

Turnitin Ways of accessing

Turnitin can be used through Moodle or directly from the Turnitin website.

Accessible directly through the Turnitin website, this alternative allows the creation of similarity reports in an individual space, without a direct link between teachers and students. Ideal solution for teachers who want to use Turnitin to detect possible situations of academic fraud.

Solution for teachers who want to use Turnitin as a classroom resource. The teacher creates a Turnitin activity in Moodle where students submit their work. This use makes it possible to make similarity reports available to students if a more pedagogical approach is wanted.
