Staff mobility for teaching and training

The Erasmus+ mobility program is not only devoted to students, but also to academic staff – including both teaching and non-teaching staff – of European Higher Education Institutions and partner countries. See below the outgoing and incoming programs available.

Every year, NOVA University publishes a notice setting out the terms and conditions governing the academic staff mobility for teaching or training missions, for periods that normally do not exceed 5 working days – excluding travel time.

Based on this notice, NOVA FCSH opens calls for attributing the grants to teaching personnel, researchers, and non-teaching staff of FCSH, who can thus benefit from mobility experiences to exchange and acquire knowledge in different European Higher Education partner institutions.

The grants include a travel allowance, calculated according to the distance between the institutions, and a mission subsistence allowance as a contribution for the living expenses incurred during the time spent abroad (varying according to the destination country).

STA – Mobility for Teaching Activities

For teaching activities, an Interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreement is needed between NOVA FCSH and the destination University concerning the area of study of the beneficiary. A teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per mobility week.

STT – Mobility for Training Activities

This program is devoted to teaching and non-teaching staff, and is designed to support their professional development by financing their participation in training events abroad (conferences excluded) and observation/supervision activities in the working/training place in a partner Higher Education Institution or in another relevant organization abroad.

For these activities, there is no need of an existing Interinstitutional Erasmus+ agreement with the destination organization.

European universities frequently organize training weeks (“Staff Weeks”) – the applications for STT mobility can include mentioning the attendance to these events.

All the information and application forms are available in the project web pages below. NOVA FCSH advertises the information concerning the positions and the application deadlines through its digital media when the calls are open.

In case of Teaching Missions (STA), a teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per mobility week.

The ICM grant amount is calculated based on the distance between the institutions. ICM grants include a mission subsistence allowance as a contribution for the living expenses incurred during the time spent abroad (varying according to the destination country).
