CAPLE
NOVA FCSH is an official Local Centre for the Application and Promotion of Exams (LAPE) accredited by the Centre for Evaluation and Certification of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (CAPLE).
CAPLE exams are exclusively intended for foreign citizens and may serve a variety of purposes, including:
- pursuing academic studies,
- advancing an academic career,
- entering the job market,
- acquiring Portuguese nationality, among others.
Information about examination
How to register
To register for a CAPLE exam:
- Visit the official CAPLE website: caple.letras.ulisboa.pt/exames
- Select the exam you wish to take.
- Complete the registration form and follow all the provided instructions.
- Wait for a confirmation email, which will include the payment reference.
Important: You may only register for one exam per testing season.

Important information
Around one week before the exam date, the NOVA FCSH LAPE will contact you by email with details about your exam time.
Exam results will be published on the CAPLE platform: caple.letras.ulisboa.pt/classificacoes. You will need your candidate code, which is assigned at registration.
Certificates can only be collected after receiving an email from LAPE confirming their availability.
