Outcomes

Achievement of these outputs envisages both the spread of knowledge within academia (and open science) and also answers an actual societal challenge.
From a strategic point of view, TravelconT aims to develop a synergetic spiral between collaborative studies among peers and local co-creation (regenerative tourism) so as to empower the communities, thereby promoting and enhancing the value of an altruistic and resilient citizen science. Tourism acts here as an agent of positive transformation in an approach that benefits both visitors and the visited, and whose proactivity radiates out into the social fabric with a holistic engagement.

The outcome translates into the creation of a single (cultural) heritage destination brand that spreads to other (natural) domains in a strategy to transition to a blue/green economy. By calling upon heritage, TravelconT rethinks contemporary history. This is because the Humanities can combat any indifference towards knowledge as they are a privileged vehicle for interculturality and alterity.
