SDG - Sustainable Development Goals

Since 2024, the academic project TravelconT has been part of Tourism4SDGs.org, a United Nations platform for Sustainable Development applied to Tourism (https://tourism4sdgs.org/research/travelcont/).
Based on 3 principles (Learn, Share and Act) Tourism4SDGs aims to use tourism as an instrument of education, debate and action in the implementation of sustainable and regeneration practices.
TravelconT is therefore a member of the LEARN – RESEARCH category, as it is based on an academic project that has an effective impact on civil society.

Specifically, TravelconT aligns with the SDG targets for tourism in objectives 4, 11, 15 and 17:
  • 4. Ensure access to inclusive education and promote learning
4.4. Contribute to greater qualifications and skills of young people and adults for employment and entrepreneurship
  • 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
11.4. Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world's cultural and natural heritage
  • 15. Protect, restore, and promote ecosystems
15.5. Take measures to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity and protect and prevent the extinction of threatened species
  • 17. Strengthening means of implementing and revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development
17.14. Encourage and promote effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships, based on the experience of local resource mobilization strategies
