CLUL is hosting the 14th Diachronic Generative Syntax conference, on July 4-6, 2012

DiGS is an established international conference, launched in 1990, that alternates between venues in Europe and the Americas. For more than 20 years, it has been a privileged forum for the presentation of research in formal diachronic syntax, combining historical and more broadly comparative investigations of syntactic phenomena from a generative perspective.

DiGS 14 welcomes submissions on any topic in formal diachronic syntax, but especially encourages research that reports novel linguistic data and sheds light on the constrained ways in which older linguistic variants give rise to new ones in the course of time, with the aim of contributing insights into the properties of natural language, and the ways those properties constrain language change.

Invited Speakers:
Paola Crisma (University of Trieste)
Anthony Kroch (University of Pennsylvania)
Adam Ledgeway (University of Cambridge)
Susan Pintzuk (University of York)
Esther Rinke (Goethe University, Frankfurt)

The deadline for abstract submission is January 31, 2012
