Portuguese-Brazilian Santander University Scholarships



What is it?

The Portuguese-Brazilian Santander University Scholarships Programme has resulted from a protocol between the Santander-Totta Group, the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), the National Association of Managers of Federal Institutions of Higher Education, representing the Brazilian Federal Universities, and the Council of Rectors of the Paulist State Universities, representing Public Universities of the State of São Paulo.


What is the aim?

This agreement seeks to:

- Strengthen the academic relations between Portugal and Brazil;

- Promote the construction of an Ibero-American Higher Education Area;

- Encourage university student mobility and promote excellence in higher education.


Who can apply?

This Programme awards scholarships with a duration of one semester to undergraduate or Master's students enrolled in one of the Brazilian universities who take part of the Programme every year.
For the academic year of 2014/2015 (from September/14 till June/15), the list of Brazilian universities is the following:

- Universidade de Brasília;
- Universidade de São Paulo;
- Universidade Estadual de Campinas;
- Universidade Estadual da Paraíba;
- Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho";
- Universidade Federal de Alagoas;
- Universidade Federal da Bahia;
- Universidade Federal de Goiás;
- Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso;
- Universidade Federal de Pelotas;
- Universidade Federal de Pernambuco;
- Universidade Federal de São Carlos;
- Universidade Federal de São Paulo;
- Universidade Federal de Uberlândia;
- Universidade Federal do Ceará;
- Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso do Sul;
- Universidade Federal do Piauí;
- Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro;
- Universidade Federal do Rio Grande;
- Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte;
- Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul;
- Universidade Federal Fluminense;
- Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro.
