European Chapter

Objectives

 

The goal of IALE-Europe, founded July the 13th of 2009 in Salzburg at the 2009 European IALE conference, is to coordinate the common interests of landscape ecologists at a European level. IALE-Europe doesn’t replace the existing European chapters of IALE, quite the opposite: The chapter supports the existing European national chapters as well as individual European members of IALE at a variety of fields where landscape ecological theory, methods, practise and education are or needs to be coordinated at a European level to support the development of European landscapes. IALE-Europe will also stimulate the foundation of new national, sub-national or cross-national chapters of IALE-Europe that can promote the solution of landscape ecological problems tied to specific European landscapes.

IALE - Europe 2011 EVENT - Landscape Ecology and Practice on 21/22 September 2011 in Salzburg/Laufen (Germany). The subject will be Landscape Ecology in Urban Practice. Organised by WG 1 - Landscape Ecology in Practice. In connection with the Annual Conference of the German Urban Ecology Network (CONTUREC) in Laufen at the Bavarian Academy for Nature Protection (22-24 September).
