  • To build an "integral model” for the management, conservation and sustainable development of the montado ecosystem with a great socio-economic value for the neighbouring regions.
Specific objectives
  • To determine and evaluate the factors of the montado vulnerability and the risk factors of the agricultural productions that characterise such environment;
  • To build a socio-economic model for the management and development of this ecosystem under the premises of the conservational and sustainability approach to development;
  • To develop strategies for the ecosystem’s productions that can contribute to development sustainability by the means of the elaboration of an informatics system that, at the same time, will enable the management of the socio-economic model, decision-making and the monitoring of the system, applying Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems.
