The Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa organizes courses of Portuguese Language and Culture for foreigners (1st and 2nd semesters), aimed at scholarship students of the Erasmus Program of the UNL and other students.

Schedule of the Course
Each level has the duration of 64 hours (60 lecture hours and 4 hours of cultural activities), with lessons 2 times a week.
In case the student has any problem with the schedule, he must tell the teacher in the beginning of the course. If not so, it will be considered that the student can attend the lessons according to the above mentioned.

Evaluation and Certification of the Courses
At the end of each semester a certificate is emitted, mentioning the characterization of the level and the final classification. In some cases it will only be emitted a simple frequency certificate. To get a certificate with a final classification and the correspondent ECTS, the student has to attend, at the very least, 75% of the lessons. Each level has a total duration of 64 hours to which correspond 4 ECTS.

Levels and Classes  
The placement of the students in the different levels has in account two criteria: 
•  the evaluation of the information given by the students in the Registration Form; 
•  the accomplishment of a diagnostic test in the 1 st session. 

During the first sessions, the teacher will be able to reevaluate the knowledge of the students and place them in a more adjust level.
